Our stay at Senja in January was dominated by whale watching but there was also some time left for landscape photography 😉 We passed Tungeneset one morning and I simply could not resist the beautiful light of the Earth’s shadow that was behind Okshornan mountains. Tide and waves were too high for a walk over to the rock pool and so we drove back a few hundred meters until we found this nice spot with the boulders. Our Norway photo galleries has finally been updated with the new photos – in case you fancy viewing more photos of Norway 😉
Hello, I’m Sandra – a passionate landscape photographer and solo globetrotter. In this blog I show my best landscape, nature and travel photos which have been taken during my travels around the world. I shared my passion for travel and photography with my late husband Gerd until 2018, whom I now take with me in my heart to every place I visit. Please also view my trip reports on my website Sandra Schänzer travelogues and photo galleries.
Really lovely shots from Senja <3 <3
Those colors are always so beautiful to see 🙂 Wonderful pictures Sandra <3 <3
These are superb, Sandra. Personally, I prefer this sort of image over almost any aurora. Sacrilege, I suppose? 🙂
Thank you Steve 🙂 Well, I do like both but nothing can beat a well composed landscape photo with a bit of moonlight and a dancing aurora 😉 Anyway, the northern lights are just a means of composition like interesting clouds, flowing water or rocks. I take ’em all =D Thanks again Marjo – one day you will be there, too 🙂
Hi Sandra,
These are really stunning shots. Congrats!
Best,
Adit
Wonderful images you have taken of all the parts of Northern Norway that you have visited.
I myself dabble in taking photos above the Arctic Circle, but I find most of my images are a little “washed out” and not on the level your images are.
How do you post-process your images to get that “ultra-clear” look that almost pops out of the screen where the bright areas almost look like they are shining? Is there a trick or a good book for this level of post processing?
