We changed our mind and left the Lofoten earlier than planned – mainly due to the bad weather but also because we wanted to see something different and remembered that we had dreamt of seeing the Vesterålen Islands in winter. So I searched and booked a wonderful apartment near Sortland and we left the Lofoten Islands four nights early. It was a dead right decision as we were following the polar night further north and could enjoy the wonderful pink and blue light even more. But… wait! Not only that light 🙂 Lady Aurora decided to dance for us almost every night and I especially liked her dance in this night when it was still almost full moon. If I lived up there, I would only take aurora shots with moonlight but when you are on holiday, you have to take what you get. But I must admit that these moonlit shots belong to my alltime favourites 🙂
Hello, I’m Sandra – a passionate landscape photographer and solo globetrotter. In this blog I show my best landscape, nature and travel photos which have been taken during my travels around the world. I shared my passion for travel and photography with my late husband Gerd until 2018, whom I now take with me in my heart to every place I visit. Please also view my trip reports on my website Sandra Schänzer travelogues and photo galleries.
