The well-known and in summer very popular Isteiner Schwellen are rapids in the Upper Rhine near the village Istein. I love to visit this place in autumn and winter when it is quieter without the hustle and bustle of summer activities. The rapids are most interesting when the water level is low and the stones with little pools are revealed.
The location is only a 20-minute drive away from Basel and I have visited it a few times over the past weeks. I got some nice colours but have not been lucky with fog so far – maybe next time 😉
Hello, I’m Sandra – a passionate landscape photographer and solo globetrotter. In this blog I show my best landscape, nature and travel photos which have been taken during my travels around the world. I shared my passion for travel and photography with my late husband Gerd until 2018, whom I now take with me in my heart to every place I visit.
