I’m a bit sad but I must say that these are very likely the last insect or butterfly photos of this year’s summer season from my local meadow. Why? I simply can’t be there anymore! The meadow is very close to the Rhine river and the retention basin that was flooded by the recent flooding seems to be a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes this year. So even with the help of repellent, I am just eaten by these little beasts and I must admit that no photo is worth this “bloody” nuisance 🙁
So I was quite pleased when Gerd found this little chap who was posing for us willingly for almost 20 minutes. Mr. Robber Robber was very patient and not shy at all and so we managed these two photos before we went back home with about 20 mossie bites despite the repellent 😮

Simply superb
I’d shed my blood for these. 🙂 Super, Sandra.
Excellent macros. The subject and BG differentiation is done quite well.
