The rocky bays around Mosteiros with the three distant huge rock stacks are a very well known subject on the island São Miguel. I only had one morning and one evening for photographs and I unfortunately wasn’t very lucky with the weather. It was either stormy or rainy but no warm morning or evening light.
Anyway, I did not complain and tried to make the best out of it. I liked the blue hour in the morning with the stormy sky very much and the mossy green rocks worked pretty well as a foreground. It was just getting light when I took this photo very early in the morning.
When I was at the beach in the evening, I immediately knew that these conditions were perfect for monochrome processing and I was not disappointed when I came back home and worked on the conversion.
