Sunset at Lagoa do Capitão – Pico – Azores

We only had four nights on Pico and just one rainy day so that we were able to make the best of our stay.

Gerd and I went up to the highland one evening and settled near the lovely lagoon Lagoa do Capitão for sunset. The sun disappeared half an hour before sunset behind the hills but it was a great quiet mood in complete silence, only accompanied by the singing of the birds.

We stayed until it got dark and admired the starry sky over the Pico volcano. So beautiful and so peaceful.

I have also finished our travelogue, so if you interested in viewing more pics and reading about our trip, then please visit the full report here: Trip report Azores 2013: Green islands and rugged coastlines We hope you enjoy!
