Easter break in Andalusia – Spain

We spent an extended Easter break in Andalusia, as I already mentioned in an earlier blog post, and the short travelogue is now online: Travelogue Andalusia – Spain 2013

We spent six days in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, explored the Tropical Coast and admired the glorious history and moorish architecture of Granada. We had our base was in the wonderful Casa de Lino in Nigüelas and spent one night in the fancy Alhambra Palace Hotel

It was a nice break from the bad weather in Basel and the Alhambra alone was worth the visit. We visited a great Natural Reserve on our last day and were able to observe songbirds that were all new to us like a beautiful red-backed shrike, a woodchat shrike and a very cute corn bunting. The holiday was not so ideal from a photographic point of view as I did not get any nice morning or evening light and I had a hard time to get the feeling for the landscape which is cultivated a lot. But it was still a nice and enjoyable break!

Please enjoy reading the travelogue and viewing the photos.
