~ Ice demon ~

This winter has been very mild so far and I was not able to find interesting ice formations even when it had been cold for a few days.

So I was very pleased when I came across this little ice demon last Sunday in a small stream. He must be a nice demon, I’m sure, as he seems to smile a bit.

Thank you very much for your comment, @[1293848311:2048:Andrew] :) If I remember correctly, I used f16 or f22 and the distance to the flowing stream was about 10-15cm. But I was using a 90mm Macro lens and therefore able to get very close. Happy you like this little chap :)

These are always potentially cool abstracts and this one is so delicate. Disappointing year here also for ice and snow.

He looks as if he is blowing the icy wind pretty hard. I am impressed that this stands out as well as it does against the background. Was the DoF very shallow – wide open lens – or is the bg some distance away?
