… in the Basque Country is a true photographic icon indeed!
This beech tree is just extraordinarily beautiful with its branches, extensive roots and growing along the small stream. These beech trees are not natural; their branches have been split by charcoal burner so that they could produce more charcoal. The workers are long gone but the trees remained in some places in Gorbeia.
I was unlucky that the weather was just too good and I was not blessed with some beautiful low clouds to create a bit more mood but yep, it is the way it is and I tried to make the best out of it.
Here are two photos of the most famous and popular beech tree of the Basque Country, seen through the lens with my eyes.
